HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 10-106 2Rezolution of tqe ~orou:sq of <1Iuderd, ~ ~ W ~ 10-1 a; n'te of Adoption A!xil 22. aJ10 No. II AWARDING BID FOR THE HERMA1'lN AVENUE SA1'lIT ARY SEWER CLEA1'lING & TV INSPECTION PROJECT 'VHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Hermann Avenue Sanitary Sewer Cleaning & TV Inspection Project; and WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received two (2) bid proposals for the Hermann Avenu Project as follows: Total Amount 1. National Water Main Cleaning Co. $ 15.580.00 2. Oswald Enterprises, Inc. $ 14235.00 WHEREAS, Oswald Enterprise, Inc., has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer; and WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the award ofa contract to Oswald Enterprises, Inc., in a total amount not to exceed $14,235.00 and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as follows: 1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Oswald Enterprises, Belford, N.J. for the Hermann Avenue Sanitary Sewer Cleaning & TV Inspection for the sum of $14,235.00 in accordance in all respects with the request for proposals and bid on same. 2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer. 3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval from the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour Compliance. We have attached the quotes for your information. Based on the proposals submitted, it is estimated that the work can be completed in three days. Attached is a bid summary based on the assumption of a three-day work period along with an estimate that 40 tons of material will be removed from the sewers and require disposal. Based on these assumptions, the low quote was provided by Oswald Enterprises, Inc, and we recommend the Borough authorize the work to be performed by Oswald Enterprises, Inc, in an amount not to exceed $14,235.
