A RESOLUTION OF TFIE CITY COUNCIL OF '!'HE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AiJTHORIZING JOINT' SUBMISSION AND PARTICIPATTON
IN A GRANT APPLICATION 'I'O CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON
CRIMINAL JUSTICE
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council desiree to jointly participate in
the submission of a grant proposal which would establish the Loe Angeles County
Region A Youth Diversion Program to be funded in part by the California Council on.
Criminal Juatice in the amount af $187, 000 of the tai;~l projec:t coet of $205, 70(1;
and
WHEREAS, this application ie made on behalf of the Cities of Bell, Bell
Gardensa Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate and Vernon
who have organized themselves through the formation of Region A of the Los Angelee
County Youth Diversion District to deal with such problems ae deacribed in the
proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Lynwood, California does hereby determine and declare as followe:
SECTION 1> That the Lynwood City Council will authorize the Region A
of the Los Angeles Youth Diversion Dietrict to carry on this juvenil.e delinqueney
pr•evention project on behalf of this City.
SECTION 2, That the Lynwood City Council will appropriate ita portion.
of first year loc~l matching funds not to exceed $1, 350 which are required af each
jurisdiction desiring to receive services to be provided by the proposed Los Angeles
County Region, A Youth Divereion Program.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 6th day of August , 1974,
