A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'1'S' (7f,' L.YNWC)~~D
AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PROPERTY NECF,SSAH~"
FOR THE WIDENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF I.ONG BEACH E30r?L~'.~rAI~~D
WHEREAS, the City Couneil of the C~ity of Lynwc~or.1 ha.s ;1~tErmin~ra
that the widening and improvement of Long Bea~h Boulevard rrom the norther9.~~
to the southerly boundaries of the City is necessary for ~he convenience,
welfare, and safety of the public, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best interest of the City
shall be served by the acquisition of property ne~essary for said widening, and
WHEREAS, the City has appr~opriated certain funds for this acquisition
and development, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received an Envirorxmental Impaet
Statement on the Long Beach Boulevard Project and have determined that no
significant environmental impact will occur in the completion of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described property is necessary for the
widening of Long Beach Boulevard:
The westerly 4 feet of Lot 223, Tract No. 2551, as shown an
map filed in Book 24, pages 78, 79, and 80, of Maps, in the
office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles,
Section 2. That the purchase price for the above ;lescribed property
has been negotiated with James W. Walker and Lucille M, Walker in the
amount of $150. 00.
Section 3, That the City Council authorize and direct City Staff to
take whatever steps necessary to accept this property in accordance with
the terms and conditions as set forth above,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 6th ~ay of August
1974.
