AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CARTERET BOARD OF
HEALTH FOR THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT & FLTIURES
FOR THE HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER
WHEREAS, the Borough of eartceet (the "Borough") is in need of equipment and fixtures for
the Health and Wellness Center in the Borough of earteeet; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has requested the assistance and cooperation of the Carteret
Board of Health with the purchase of equipment and fixtures for the Health and Wellness Center;
and
WHEREAS, the Carteret Board of Health has expressed its willingness to assist the Borough
with the cooperative purchase of equipment and fixtures by seeking judicial approval to pledge
$10,000.00 a year for the next len years, for a tolal of SI00,000.00, from the proceeds of the
Soldiers and Sailors Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body is committed to pass a Bond Ordinance to finance the
purchase of equipment and fixtures with the Board of Health pledging partial funding for the
purchase through the Soldiers and Sailors Fund should the same be sanctioned by the court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, COlmty ofMiddl~sex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the Borough Attorney is hereby authorized to work with counsel for the earteret
Board of Health and to take whatever action may be' necessary on behalf of the Borough
to secure court approval for the pledge of funding from the Soldiers and Sailors FWld
toward the purchase of equipment and fixtures.
2. That the Borough Attorney is hereby authorized to draft any agreement that may be
required to formalize a cooperative funding purchase of equipment and fixtures.
3. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute and implement
any such agreement that may be required.
4. That copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Board of Health and .its legal
counsel, George J. O!lowski, Jr., Esq.
