A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING THE PERSONNEL CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY ADDING
THE CLASSIFICATION OF PARK SECURITY GUARD
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section le Under Section 2, Subsection C of the Personnel Ordinance No. 671,
the City Council shall adopt a position classification plan by authority of that
section may amend or revise the plan as necessary.
Section 2. That the classification description of Park Security Guard be
added to the Personnel Classification Plan and shall read as follows:
The Position
Under direction to patrol and guard City property, buildings, and grounds, and do
related work as requir°ed,
Representative Duties: Patrols buildings and grounds, checks doors and windows
for security, locks doors, turns lights on and off, checks equipment such as furnances,
heaters, and electrical equipment and reports operating failures; gives information
about public facilities; observes activities and programs conducted at the Recrea-
tion and Parks facilities and keeps the peace. Checks for public adherence to
rules and regulations for using public failities and informs offenders; works closely
with the Police Department regarding crimes committed on City facilities and
reporting of same; prevention of vandalism, juvenile fights, etc,
Minimum R.equirements: A high school graduate or G. E, D. equivalent, knowledge
of the duties and responsibilities of watchman, knowledge of building utilities,
ability to think and act quickly in an emergency, ability to read and write, ability
to maintain good public relations with the public and experience in working with
minorities,
