HomeMy Public PortalAbout74-093 (10-15-74)•j . ~ •` RESOLUTION NO. 7'~-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CENTRAL COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL BURGLARY INVESTIGATIVE TEAM WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood, California desires to participate in a certain project designated as the Central County Mu1ti~Jurisdictional Burglary Investigative Team to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL90-355, as amended, PL91-644, (herea~ter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the California Off"ice of Criminal Justice Planning; and WHEREAS, the California Office of Criminal Justice Planning has been organized to administer the funds appropriated by Congress and allocated for use in California under the provisions of the law; and WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Go~ernments has been designated as the Regional Advlsory Board for Reglon R including the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Regional Criminal Justice Planning Board has been organized and has published a Regional Criminal Justice Master Plan for Region R; and WHEREID the City of Bell Gardens, on behalf of the cities of Bell, Commerce, and unincorporated area served by East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station, Cudahy, Dcwney, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate, and Vernon submitted an application for a grant of $175, 000 to fund a Burglary Investigation Program entitled Central County Multi-Jurisdictional Burglary Investigative Team and WHEREAS9 the sum of $972, 20 has been assessed of the City of Lynwood for the hard--~cash matchirag funds requirements, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, Calif"ornia, DOES RESOLVE as follows: lo That the City Council agrees to participate in the proposed Central County Mu1ti~Jurlsdfctional Burglary Investigative Team to accept its share of the grant, and to provide the City's share of hard-cash matching funds which has been determined to be a sum equal to $972. 20, 2o That the City ~Vlanager is herewith designated as the City's repre- sentative in the conduct of the Central County Multi-Jurisdictional Burglary Team and is authorized to furnish Information, execute documents, make expenditures and perform associated administrative functions within the scope of authority granted by this resolutiono The City Manager may designate other employees as necessary to assist him in these dutires. 3~ That the grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures. ^ _- ~ •; ...
