BETWEEN
CITY OF WATERTOWN
AND
WATERTOWN MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, TEAMSTERS, LOCAL 25
WHEREAS, the Watertown Municipal Employees Association, Teamsters, Local 25
("Union") is the exclusive collective bargaining representative for certain employees employed by
the City of Watertown ("City");
WHEREAS, the City and the Union are parties to a collective bargaining agreement that was
effective for the period of July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022 ("CBA");
WHEREAS, the parties are currently engaged in negotiations for a successor CBA;
WHEREAS, the City has proposed to make an interim modification to the existing vacation
provision in the CBA to aid ft initsongoing recruiting efforts to fill vacant positions;
WHEREAS, the Union has agreed to the City's proposal;.
NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereby agree as follows:
1. Effective January 1, 2024, Article 5, Section A(1) of the CBA will be revised to read as
follows:
"Section A. VaeationLeave
1. Employees covered by this Agreement shall be granted annual vacation leave in
accordance with the following schedule and with the provisions of this article.
PERIOD OF SERVICE ALLOWANCE
Beginning with the first day of the 2t month through 3 Weeks
completion of eight years
Beginning with the first day of the ninth year through 4 Weeks
completion of twenty years
Beginning with the first day of the twenty-first year through 5 Weeks
completion of twenty-four years
Beginning with the first day of the twenty-fifth year and 6 weeks*
beyond (*Non -Dispatch employees only)
Newly hired employees who successfully complete one (1) month of continuous service shall
receive a prorated amount of their 3 weeks vacation entitlement during the first calendar year
of their employment based on their month of hire. For example, an employee hired July 1st
would receive 1 %z weeks of vacation leave for the remainder of the calendar year in which
they are hired and only after completing one (1) month of continuous service. Thereafter, a
newly hired employee. will.:receive their' annual. vacation, allotment on. each. January Is` hi:

initially becomes eligible for vacation during: the month. of Decembei,.:the perio& for ut lzzing

2. Existing employeeswho are cunently receiving vacation leave at the weeks level will.be;
movedto the new 3 weeks.level effective_ January 1,2024 in accordance with the new
schedule
