RESOLUTION NO. 14-8743
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO SEEK AND
ESTABLISH A PLAN, BY WHICH THE CITY CAN
PRESENT OBAMACARE/AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
("ACA") TO CITY EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the Implementation of the federal Affordable Care Act(ACA) ("Obamacare")
became effective January 1, 2014; and
WHEREAS,the City Commission desires to investigate the possibility of offering the ACA
for Opa-locka City employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to review the requirements to determine the possibility of acquiring ACA for City
employees.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the City
Manager to investigate options, by which the City can present Affordable Care Act insurance
coverage to City employees.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of January, 2014.
