NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the city clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 280 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: The City Council of the City of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 280 . The ordinance is a comprehensive revision of the City's planned unit development (PUD) zoning ordinance. The amendment shifts from the emphasis on residential development found in the previous ordinance to one which is more accommodating of commercial, industrial and mixed -use PUDs. The amendment allows the establishment of a PUD in two ways. Like the previous ordinance, the new document allows the creation of a PUD through rezoning. This method will be utilized for complex or multi -use sites where traditional zoning is inadequate. For less complicated projects, the new ordinance also allows PUDs to be established by conditional use permit. This will be used in instances in which design details need to be modified. The new ordinance also eliminates the minimum acreage required for PUDs found in the previous ordinance. The full text of Ordinance No. 280 is available at Medina city hall during regular business hours.
