Interested Citizen Judi Pepper DeFusco The Meeting was called to order at 5:00pm The Minutes of the May 15, 2014 meeting were unanimously approved. Old Business: 1. Update From The Friends Of T he Fourth: • No one to run it. All set for this year for Fireworks. 2. Fireworks Update • OFD Captn Felt -Atlas supposed to send Fire Dept the paperwork. Atlas all set. 3. Parade Update • Waiver of the tipping fee at the Transfer Station - done • Banner Hanging Application to Town Hall - Done • Torn Dooley, highway director hanging OIA. June 26-July 4 Bonnie will look for banner at John Kelly's office • What band contracts are in? Jane will check with Leanna • Sue communication with Nauset Disposal - forms all set 5. Signs and Banner Update • Will need to get from Ken's storage Board signs and banner take to Young and Fancy for date change (Bonnie) • Sue to get decorations from Jane's 6. Theme Contest Update • Bonnie called Bill Pomeroy to arrange for a photo with the Theme Contest Winner, Piper Kavanaugh. Photo will be submitted to the Cape Codder • Pete will check with Randy about pedicab. 7. Entry form update, mailing, posting of entry form around town. • Ingrid distributed entry forms and posters around town. (some in Brewster and Eastham also. • Jane mailing entry forms to last year's entrants 53 mailed out 8. Volunteers, New Members • Jane and Ingrid went to Public Speak at the Selectboard Meeting. It went well. Spoke about our needs. • Bonnie wrote an article for the Cape Codder and also put it on the Town's website. Getting the article published with photo of Piper Cavanaugh • Sue and Jane will email Bonnie with the people they mentioned to volunteer for decorating and general parade/fireworks help 9. Member Responsibilities 10. Timeline - Parade and Fireworks Prep for June, July New Business Lot of t-shirts left from ones we purchased. Putting them at Orleans Community Exchange every other weekend to sell. Will need them for volunteers also We reviewed this timeline and cross referenced it with parade day checklist and committee and volunteer responsibilities. We still have positions to fill. JUNE WE WILL LOOK AT THIS AND THE CHECKLIST TO MAKE ASSIGNMENTS • • Invitations to dignitaries - include when (9-9:30)and where (OES)to be - Jane • Bonnie will get the Sign Posting (board signs) form submitted to Building Department • Parking lot forms for OES and NRMS completed - Bonnie Done . • Letters sent to Stop and Shop and Shaves requesting a donation of small water bottles - Ingrid - will ask Glenda how many • Banner should be hung on ? (banner permit will tell you) June 26, July • Post Board signs - date and locations specified on permit form - Bonnie • Reminder to bus company to move buses out of 0E5 and NRMS parking lots -Done Pete • Contact Billy Giroux (Legion)about placing flags along Parade.route - Letter American Legion Orleans . Sue C will ask Howard for address • • Flowers from Friends (borrowed for the parade)- Sue C will speak with Jim Junkins • Bus picking up camp kids at top parking lot -done Rick July • Arrange for checks for Bands and Fireworks - Pete • Set up staging signs on parade day- NO ONE YET • Tides Saturday July 5Th low early - Install fencing July 5"' early morning 7:30 • Bonnie will talk with Sully get fencing • On Fireworks day have Capt. Felt (fire inspector) check the fencing • Give payment $ to Fireworks Company Shoot Supervisor • Post°Fireworks Area" signs on Fencing - Sully • Friends of rock harbor might help with fencing set-up The next meetings will be held on June 17 (coolers) and July 1, 2014.
