Liaison,Alan McClennan.Also in attendance:Judi Benz,Judi Weil, Peter O'Meara
The Meeting was called to order at 10:00am
The Minutes of the July 1,2014 meeting were unanimously approved
1. Committee Reorganization
• Chair—Ingrid Moyer
• Vice Chair—Jane Peno
• Treasurer—Ingrid Moyer
• Clerk—Bonnie Roy
• Judi Weil says she will consider being on the committee
2. Friends of the 4th
• Judi Benz and Glenda are on the Friends.
• Peter O'Meara will consider possibly joining The Friends
3. 2014 Events REVIEW
Signs and Banner
Parade
• We need a way to announce that we will be collecting during the Parade.
• Storage is available in Judy Benz's basement
• Parade Set-up Signs worked well
• Decorating—was fine
Maybe a canopy for Brewster Band so they can come in the rain.
We will look for other bands, possibly the Fife and Drum
• Water/Cooler Distribution worked well
• Band Staging Area OES worked well
• Float Staging Area NRMS—We just need 1-2 at Eldredge Park entrance
• Number Distribution -OK
• Parade Order/Parade Flow
- Now can we avoid gaps?—Possibly remind drivers when we give them their number. Keep up the pace. Maybe
have Todd Shipman at the beginning to remind them again
- Send a list down to OES so they know what is coming from NRMS
• Awards
- Change GENERAL TO NON-PROFIT on the signs and actual awards
• Removing Decorations went well.The decorations are stored at Sue Christie's
• Collection of Signs went well. They are stored in Ken Farrar's storage area on Old Colony
• Thank You Notes
- We reviewed the list and added some names
- Letter to the editor—Bonnie
- Should we send a letter to OYC regarding behavior of Sailing Club director?
• T-shirt sales were good, marketing through the Chamber of Commerce. Need more green t-shirts for Committee,
and some t-shirts for the collectors
Fireworks
• Possible 2015 Dates Sat 4th Parade,Sunday 5th Fireworks, Monday,6th Rain Date
4. New Business
• Meeting time change Second Thursday of the month at 4:00pm
ne next meeting will be held on Thursday,October Mat 5:00 pm in the Tonset Room at Orleans Town Hall.
