AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH MIDDLESEX COUNTY FOR STRIPING
CARTERET Th'DUSTRlAL ROAD
WHEREAS, the lnterlocal Services Act, N.J.S.A. 40:8A-I et seq. encourages
counties and municipalities to enter into contracts for the joint provision of
services in order to effectuate economies in govenunent costs to reduce property
taxes and provides legal authority and procedures to effectuate such agreements;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County") and the Borough of
Carteret (the "Borough") are desirous of entering into such an Interlocal Services
Agreement for the Striping Carteret Industrial Road from the Middlesex County
Department of Public 'Yorks, Division of Highways, North Brunswick Complex
located on Apple Orchard Lane, North Brunswick.
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:8A-4, said proposed contract is
available and open to public inspection at the Office of the Carteret 1vlunicipal
Clerk, Carteret "Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey,
between the hours of8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
l. The Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
the proposed InterIocal Services Agreement with the County of
Middlesex for striping the Carteret Industrial Road detailed in said
Agreement and in a fonn acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution with original signatures and the
Borough Seal. along with three executed copies of the aforementioned
Interlocal Services Agreement, be fonvarded to David R. Campion,
Director of Public \Vorks for processing.
