HomeMy Public PortalAbout101-1998 - Grant - Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne CountyORDINANCE NO. 101-1998 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY WHEREAS, the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Richmond, through its Widowed Persons Service desires to submit a grant application for purposes of training volunteers to identify possible drug abuse problems of the new widowed. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County in order assist with training and phone expenses for its Widowed Persons Service. 2. The Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to One Thousand Eight-seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($1,087.50). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the Department of Parks and Recreation, shall be appropriated for training and phone expenses for Widowed Persons Services to detect abuse of prescription drugs and alcohol in widowed persons.
