Four Firefighters Graduate State Firefighting Academy
On April 29, 2005 Firefighters Michael Anastasi, Jeffrey Campbell, Edward
Farrell and Michael Raymond completed the Mass Fire Academy's Recruit Training
Program. The intensive eleven -week program for municipal firefighters involves
classroom instruction, physical fitness training, firefighter skills training and live
firefighting practice. Students are also given training in public fire education,
hazardous material incident mitigation, stress management and confined space
rescue. The training is designed to prepare today's firefighter for the diverse
situations for which they will be called upon beyond fighting fires.
In completing this program, these firefighters have met the national standards
established by the National Fire Protection Association 1001 Standard for
Firefighters and have been certified at both Firefighter I and II levels.
