HomeMy Public PortalAbout14-8755 Business or Volunteer Organization Sponsored by: Commissioner Johnson RESOLUTION NO. 14-8755 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CREATE AN APPLICATION FOR ANY AND ALL ORGANIZATIONS (INCLUDING VOLUNTEERISM) DESIRING TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, AND REQUIRING THAT THE BUSINESS OR VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION HAVE GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka ("City) desires to authorize the City Manager to create and provide applications for organizations requesting to do business with the City; and WHEREAS, the organizations that are to do business with the City must have general liability insurance; and WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes the City Manager to create an application for the purpose of doing business with the City, which will also include information of the organizations' general liability insurance, should an organization have an event in cooperation with the City, they must present their certificate of insurance, 10 days prior to the event. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, authorizes the City Manager to create an application for any and all organizations (including Volunteer Resolution No. 14-8755 Organizations) desiring to do business with the City of Opa-locka, and requiring that the business or volunteer organization have general liability insurance. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
