HomeMy Public PortalAbout14-8759 Agreement w/Perris International for Street Drainage Sponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 14-8759 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH PERRIN INTERNATIONAL SERVICES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $138,079.00, FOR RUTLAND STREET DRAINAGE AND ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS BETWEEN NW 23RD AVENUE AND NW 22ND AVENUE, INCLUDING DRIVEWAY APRONS FROM NW 24TH AVENUE TO NW 22ND AVENUE, PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 47-541807, A BUDGETED ITEM; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-8627, the City of Opa-locka issued Request for Proposals (RFPs) for improvements to the Rutland Street drainage system; and WHEREAS, of the two responses, Perrin International was the highest scored, most responsible and responsive bidder to address the flooding and roadway surface issues; and WHEREAS, the RFP Evaluation Committee ranked the bidders based on price proposal, references, technical approach and other criteria, and recommends awarding the contract to Perrin International; and WHEREAS, the City of Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Perrin International Services, Inc. for improvements to Rutland Street Drainage System. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Perrin International Services, Inc., for Rutland Street Resolution No. 14-8759 drainage and roadway improvements between NW 23rd Avenue and NW 22nd Avenue, including driveway aprons from NW 24th Avenue to NW 22nd Avenue, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty Eight Thousand Seventy Nine Dollars ($138,079.00), payable from Account Numbers 47-541807, a budgeted item. Staff Summary: The City of Opa-locka issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit competitive proposals from qualified firm for the improvement of Rutland Street Drainage System and received two proposals to provide design-build services. The scope for the project includes design build services for the Rutland Street from NW 23 Avenue to NW 22 Avenue for Roadway and Drainage Improvements and also all installing all the driveways between NW 24th Avenue and NW 22°d Avenue including swale regarding and improvements. Awarding the Rutland Drainage and Roadway Improvements Project contract to Perrin International Services, Inc. is for the best interest of the City. JVA Engineering Contractor was awarded the contract for the Rutland Street Roadway and Drainage Improvements from NW 24 Avenue to NW 23rd Avenue.
