CALL TO ORDER Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmember — Fish, Man, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez ABSENT: Councilmember — None ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Kuo 3. INTERVIEWS FOR PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSIONER VACANCIES A total of 20 applications for the Public Arks Commission were received by the City and reviewed by the Commission Application Review Ad Hoc Committee composed of Mayor Chavez and Councilmember Sternquist. City Council interviewed five applicants recommended by the Application Review Ad Hoc Committee for two seats on the Public Arts Commission with term ending June 30, 2017. Mayor Chavez opened public comment. Mary Kokayko, Temple City resident, shared her observation of the previous Public Arts Commission meeting and about Commissioner Keelin's presentation during that meeting. Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner, shared his comment regarding the applicants that were interviewed. At the conclusion of the interviews, City Council deliberated and commented regarding the applicants. Councilmember Sternquist made a motion to appoint Kathy Keelin. Seconded by Councilmember Fish and unanimously carried by the following roll call votes: AYES: Councilmember — Fish, Man, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez City Council Minutes June 22, 2015 Page 2 of 2 NOES: Councilmember — None ABSENT: Councilmember — None ABSTAIN: Councilmember— None Councilmember Sternquist made a motion to appoint Lisa Kidd to the Public Arts Commission. PUBLIC COMMENT Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner, asked City Council the names of the current Public Arts Commissioners. He also commented regarding updating the City border entrance sign on Las Tunas Drive east side of town. 5.
