Coyne, Management Analyst SUBJECT: TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF MAY 13, 2015 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Transportation and Public Safety Commission (Commission) actions from their meeting of May 13, 2015. -%Cy Xe] :16111►U� On May 13, 2015, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the May 13, 2015 meeting: 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner - Clift, Nimri, Stratis, Chairman Redmond Absent: Commissioner - None Excused: Commissioner - None 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Commission approved the minutes of their April 8, 2015 meeting. City Council July 7, 2015 Page 2 of 2 3. PARKING CITATION HEARINGS The Commission held thirteen hearings in person; eight citations were upheld and five citations were dismissed. The Commission held two hearings requested by written declaration; one citation was upheld and one citation was dismissed. 4. NEW BUSINESS A. REVIEW OF THE TRAFFIC SAFETY STUDY COMPLETED FOR OAK AVENUE AND WOODRUFF AVENUE AND PRESENTED AT THE DECEMBER 11, 2013, TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION MEETING. Management Analyst Coyne delivered the presentation to the Commission. The Commission directed staff to compile a report with updated traffic collision data at the intersection of Oak Avenue and Woodruff Avenue, provide costs for upgrading existing "Stop" signs to "Stop" signs with electronic flashers, and to repaint faded limit line and "Stop" pavement markings below the limit line. B. APPOINTMENT OF VICE-CHAIRMAN The Commission proceeded with the appointment of a Vice -Chairman to serve until the annual reorganization of the Commission occurs at the first regularly scheduled Transportation and Public Safety Commission Meeting in July. Commissioner Clift was appointed as Vice -Chairman. CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2015-16 City Budget.
