SUBJECT: PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION ACTIONS —MEETING OF JUNE 8, 2015
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Public Arts Commission
(Commission) actions from their meeting of June 8, 2015.
BACKGROUND:
On June 8, 2015, the Public Art Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the June 8, 2015 meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Hepler, Rachford, Vice -Chair Keelin, Chair -Kim
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - Larson, Zhao
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Public Art Commission approved the minutes of their May 19, 2015 meeting
as amended.

3. CONTINUED BUSINESS
A. REVIEW AND PRIORITIZE GOALS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2015-16
PUBLIC ART ANNUAL PLAN
The Commission reviewed and prioritized the goals of the revised FY 2015-
16 Public Art Annual Plan. The Commission unanimously approved the FY
2015-16 Public Art Annual Plan with goals in the respective order 3, 8, 7, 2,
4, 5, 1, 9, 6.
B. MURAL -IN -A -WEEKEND EVENT PLANNING UPDATE
The Commission discussed and received and filed the Mural -In -A -Weekend
Planning staff report.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. ARTWORK IDENTIFICATION PLAQUE
The Commission discussed the Artwork Identification plaque and
unanimously approved the wording and location of the plaque as
recommended by staff.
B. UPDATE ON ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD DIRECTORIES
The Commission discussed and commented on the proposed alternate
concept on the back of the Rosemead Boulevard Directories. The
Commission directed staff to continue to work with the Ad Hoc Committee on
the original concept of the Rosemead Boulevard Directories and finalize the
project. The Commission received and filed the update on the Rosemead
Boulevard Directories.
C. DISCUSSION ON PUBLIC ART ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES
The Commission continued their discussion of the Public Art Administrative
Guidelines. The Commission directed staff to cancel tentative meeting with
the consultant who has submitted a proposal to the RFP and created a
Public Art Administrative Guidelines Ad Hoc Committee (Ad Hoc
Committee). The Commission appointed Commissioner Keelin and
Commissioner Hepler to the Ad Hoc Committee. The Commission directed
staff to prepare a report for City Council consideration regarding the
development of Temple City's Public Art Administrative Guidelines.

CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2014-15 City Budget.
