HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD 91/15ORDINANCE NO. 91/15 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE WATER RATES FOR THE OPERATION OF THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR THE TOWN; PROVIDING THE TOWN WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DISCONNECT WATER SERVICE IN THE EVENT OF NONPAYMENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The schedule of rates and charges listed below is hereby adopted and established as the costs for water furnished by and through the waterworks system of the Town of Gulf Stream for persons receiving water through said system beginning January 1, 1991: A. Capacity Charge: $9.00 per month per by -monthly billing. B. Minimum Service Charge: The minimum service charge shall be $57.90 per bi-monthly billing for 30,000 gallons or less. C. Rate Per Thousand Gallons: The rate of all quantities of water over and above the minimum bi-monthly service charge is $1.33 per each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof. Section 2. In the event any bill for water service has not been paid to the Town of Gulf Stream within thirty (30) days from the date of billing, service shall be disconnected after due notice thereof. Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other prcjisicns or applications of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable. Section 4. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict. All other ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, or parts thereof which conflict with this or any part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 1 Section 5. Codification. This Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the official Code of Ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream. Section 6. Effective Date. The Town Commission hereby declares that the necessity for the adoption of this ordinance is an emergency and, as such, the ordinance shall be effective upon first reading on the date specified herein.
