HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022-31 Resolution Accepting Bids and Awarding The ContractMember DesLauriers introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 2022-31 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Arrowhead Drive Tum Lane Expansion Project, the improvement of Arrowhead Drive north of TH 55 by expanding the width of the roadway to accommodate an additional southbound left turn lane, a bituminous trail extension, pedestrian crosswalk improvements on TH 55, stormwater ponding improvements, installation of storm sewer, and pavement striping, bids were received, opened electronically, and tabulated according to the law, and the following five bids were received complying with the advertisement: Company New Look Contracting, Inc. Valley Paving, Inc. Eureka Construction, Inc. Omann Contracting Companies, Inc. Park Construction Company Grand Total Bid $609,541.00 $640,942.00 $641,365.12 $651,226.14 $754,561.50 WHEREAS, it appears that New Look Contracting, Inc. of Rogers, MN is the lowest responsible bidder based on the Grand Total Bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with New Look Contracting, Inc. in the name of the City of Medina for the improvement of a city roadway on Arrowhead Drive north of TH 55 by expanding the width of the roadway to accommodate an additional southbound left turn lane, a bituminous trail extension, pedestrian crosswalk improvements on TH 55, stormwater ponding improvements, installation of storm sewer, and pavement striping, according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator. 2. The City Administrator or their designee is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
