RESOLUTION N0. 72-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DECLARING CERTAIN.-BUILDING.OR BUILDINGS TO BE A NUISANCE
AND DIRECTING THE. OWNER TO ABATE IT.
WHEREAS, 'the City of Lynwood Department.of Building
and Zoning has begun proceedings for the correction of
substandard .conditions in the.building~o~r buildings located
at 10624-24-1/2 Mariposa Lane, Lynwood, California;
WHEREAS, said Department has previously given notice
of these conditions to the property owner and gave him a.
period of at least thirty (30) days within which to correct
the conditions;
WHEREAS, during the. period of time .within thirty (30)
-days after the giving_of the above mentioned notice, the
property owner: failed. to .take ,.any .action and, thereafter,
.another notice was:::.given~.to.him-..directing him to appear
before. this :Council ..and..to show._.cause why said building or
buildings.shou~:d not be .condemned as a nuisance and the
nuisance abated :as .provided.by..the.State Housing Act, and
the .rules and.-regulation s:..promulgated .:thereunder; and
WHEREAS, .ths...Council .has..held a hearing and has. heard
.all interested:~:persons.desring to be heard and has taken
testimony from •the.represen.tative.of the Department of Building
and Zoning concerning the..condition..of.the building or buildings,
the-estimated.cost~of it s..reconstruction, repair; or removal,
a.nd other °matter.s'~whch the .Council deemed pertinent to this
matter;
NOW, .THEREFORE, .the: City.. Council of the ~, City . of Lynwood
hereby finds:;....•determines,.orders;:and-resolves as follows:
1. The building or buildings.,.located at 10624-24-1/2
.....Mariposa Lane, .Lynwood ,...California are found and declared to
be'' a ..public .nuisance : ' .
2. The.property owner,-:Warren:. A. and Margaret M. Parks,
is directed to abate. said nuisance; within thirty (30) days
after the date this Resolution is posted upon the premises,
by having the building :properly. .reconstructed or repaired,
or ,by having it. razed 'or. removed,....as •previously .directed
u by .the Department.: of 'Building and: Zoning. _
3. If the property owner fails to take the steps
as provided in this Resolution, the City will raze or remove
the building and make,the expense incurred thereby a lien
on.the parcel of land upon which ..the building located.
- 4. The Department of Building and Zoning is directed
to post a copy of this Resolution conspicuously on the
- building. or buildings so declared to be a nuisance and to
mail another copy of this_Resolution by registered mail,
postage prepaid, return .receipt requested, to the person owning
the land on which said building or buildings are located as
such person's name and address appear on the last equalized
assessment roll,~or.as known to the City Clerk, The Department
of Building and Zoning is also directed to.so mail a copy
of this Resolution to each mortgagee or beneficiary under. -
any mortgage. or deed of trust of record, at the last known
address of such mortagee or beneficiary. If any such addresses
are unknown_to said Department and to the City Clerk, then.
said fact shall be stated in said copy so mailed, and it
shall be addressed to the party in question at the county seat
-~ of the county wherein said property is situated. The person
or persons who so post and mail said copies shall file an
affidavit thereof with the City Clerk.

5. This_Council has jurisdiction to, raze.or-remove..

of; Building and: Zoning is directed to take proceedings to raze-
