Board of Assessors Minutes of Meeting held August 18, 2009
A regular meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on August 18, 2009 in the first
floor conference room at the Town Hall. A Notice of Meeting was duly posted. The meeting commenced at 5:25 p.m. In attendance were John Duffy, Edward Mills and
John Palmer, all the members of the Board. John Duffy presided and John Palmer kept
the minutes. Also in attendance was Robert Bushway, Principal Assessor.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 28, 2009 were approved.
The Board reviewed, approved and signed a Bills Payable Warrant in the amount of
$543.85.
The Board reviewed, approved and signed the monthly report of abatements and exemptions for July 2009. The abatements and exemptions totaled $2,826.57.
Mr. Bushway provided an update regarding the status of the FY 2010 property valuation
recertification. He reported (1) that the Department of Revenue has commenced its review of the Town’s preliminary FY 2010 values and (2) that the Town’s values are complete, except for property owned by the wireless telecommunication companies. The
Department of Revenue is expected to provide guidance as to these values.
Mr. Bushway distributed a memorandum relating to requests to travel and to attend conferences.
The next meeting was scheduled for September 1, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.
