Tourism Budget and the need for promotional advertising. It was
suggested that after the Water Department's operation for the present
fiscal year is audited, consideration could be given to lowering rates,
provided the present rates from Dade County remain constant. Mr.Sherman
announced that in all areas of major crime, Bal Harbour has the lowest
rate per capita and we pass on this information with pride. Mr. Taplin
said that we have one of the best run cities and one of the lowest tax
rates in Dade County. We will conserve where we can and are not un-
happy with the way things are being run. It was moved by Mr. Taplin,
seconded by Mr. Printup and voted that the proposed budget be adopted
on first reading and the tentative tax rate of 3.65 mills be levied
against the 1983 tax roll.
