A RESOLUTION SPONSORING A PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT FOR APPLICATION
BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA
TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR 100 PERCENT (100%)
GRANT UNDER THE LOCAL PUBLIC WORKS CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND INVEST-
MENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, has an average unemploy-
ment greater than the National Average;
WHEREAS, the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, has programmed the Water
System Improvements to support public and private sector commitments of existing
and new economic development to maximize employment of the labor force;
WHEREAS, the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, has been unable to budget
this project due to the decline in local tax dollars, unemployment, slow economic
development, and the delay of this needed public works which has caused further
unemployment in both public and private sectors of the economy;
WHEREAS, the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, is desirous of a 100
percent (100%) grant from the Economic Development Administration to assist in
carrying out this project for the overall purpose of seeking to reverse this
cycle of unemployment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ]T RESOLVED that, in this regular meeting of the
Town Commission, the Mayor, William F. Koch, Jr., is hereby designated as the
authorized representative to make application and satisfy all conditions for
grant assistance from the Economic Development Administration with the assistance
of Russell & Axon, Engineers -Planners -Architects, Incorporated.
