HomeMy Public PortalAbout14-8778 Create a Loan Program to Assist Employees in Financial Need Sponsored by: Commissioner Holmes RESOLUTION NO. 14-8778 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CREATE A LOAN PROGRAM TO ASSIST CITY EMPLOYEES IN FINANCIAL NEED WITH OUT-OF-POCKET HEALTH INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE COSTS; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, some City employees are experiencing difficulty with high out-of- pocket health insurance deductible costs; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to provide assistance on a loan basis to employees in financial need, who are having difficulties with high out-of-pocket health insurance deductible costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to create loan a program to assist City employees in financial need with high out-of-pocket health insurance deductible costs, subject to final approval of the program by the City Commission.
