HomeMy Public PortalAboutCredit Card Processing (March 2018)The Town of Brewster, through its’ Town Administrator, is soliciting bids for credit card
processing for the Town owned Captains Golf Course. This request calls for bids on a cost plus
basis. The term of the contract is for three years. Massachusetts State Law prohibits any language
that would include an automatic renewal of the contract at the end of the contract term. The
processor must offer acceptance of Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. The
processor software must fully interface with the golf course’s Chelsea Information Systems POS
software, meaning that the card transaction must be able to be swiped directly into the Chelsea
Information Systems software. The Captains Golf Course accepts credit cards for all golf services
including, green fees, golf cart fees, driving range fees, and pro shop merchandise. The golf course
membership fees are through a separate third party vendor. The food and beverage operation is
leased out and these transactions are not run through the golf course processor. The Captains Golf
Course is a 36-hole public golf facility and operates year round. The total credit card volume for
2017 for the applicable fees was $2,080,733 and the average ticket was $73.69. At least 85% of
credit card transactions are swiped (card present with imprints). Sealed bids must be received in
the Brewster Select Board’s office, 2198 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631 by Wednesday, March
28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at which time and place said bids will be opened and publicly read. The bid
must be in a sealed envelope labeled “Captains Golf Course Credit Card Bid.” The Town reserves
the right to reject any and all offers if not deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30B
as amended. The Town will select the responsive and responsible company submitting the lowest
price for the service as well as the ability to carry out the service as specified in the IFB.
