EXPENSE INCURRED BY THE' CITY IN~ THE DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS :DONE PURSUANT TO ~ SECTION 203 OF THE UNIFOKM BUILDING CODE 1970 EDITION AND THE UNIFORM ~lOCISTNG CODE 196 EDITION AND ORDERING THE EXPENSE B~+~ ASSESSED AGAINST THE REAL PROPERTY .UPON WHICH THE BUILDINGS FORMERLY STOOD, CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT, THAT THE SAME TO BE RECORDED AND THE THE COUN~l'Y TAX ASSESSOR, THE ` COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR AND THE COUNTY AUDITOR UPON RECEIPT:.;OF NOTICES OF LIEN, TO RECEIVE THE SAME AND TO ADD THE AMOIJNT~: ~OF THE ASSESSMENT TO THE NEXT~REGULAR BILL FOR TAXES LEVTED AGAINST THE LOT OR PARCEL OF LA1~D THEREIN DESCRIBED AND " THE AMOUNT OF THE COi71VTY ASSESSMENT UNDER THE LAW IN SUCH CASES MADE AND PROVIDED. WHEREAS, the Building Official has prepared and filed with the City Clerk a report specifying the work done and an itemized account; of the expense incurred by the City in the demolition of the hereinafter described premises under Section 203 of the Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition and the Uniform .Housing Code 196+ Edition, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17.2 of the Lynwood City - Code, the City Clerk on-May 16, 1972, presented the report of the Building Official to the City Council for consideration, and ` WHEREAS, in accordance with law the City Council fixed a time, date, and place for hearing said report; and any .protest or objections thereto, and WHEREAS, the City C1,erk did cause notice of said, hearing to be posted upon the property hereinafter described, and published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation in the -1- City and did serve by certified mail, postage prepaid, addressed to Mr. .Kelvin K. Pringle, the owner of the property as his name and, address appears on the 'last equalized assessment roll of the County, qn the 30th day of May , 1972, which is more than ten days prior to the date set fqr the hearing, and-did in such notice give further notice that qn the 20th day of June, 1972, beginning at the-hour of 7:30 p.m, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard in the Council Chamfers of the City Hall of the City of Lynwgod, California, the Council of the City of Lynwood wquld hear and pass upon said report of the Building Official of the said host of said repers, tggether with any objections and protests which might be raised by the prgperty gwner liable tq be assessed for the cost of said demolition, and the objections or protests of any other interested persons, and WHEREAS, on the said 20th day of June, 1972,. said City Council did proceed to hold said hearing and did duly and regularly conduct the same; all as cq~temp.lated by law, and WHEREAS, prgtest(s) and objection(s) was/were made, presented and filed in such matter. " NOW, THEREFORE, the.City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does hereby .resolve, declare, find, determine and order as follows: Sectign 1. That tr}e facts with reference tq said matter as recited, in the preamble to this resolution are true. Section 2. That the City Council does hereby confirm the report of said Building Official which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk of said City and gpen tq public inspection, ar~d which is referred to and inco,rporat~d by reference herein. Section 3. That the said Council does hereby assess the costs of said demolition against the real property hereinafter described, and does hereby grder that unless the amount so assessed is paid within 30 days, the said, amqunt shall constitute and be -2- ~ ~ ~ and is hereby levied by said Council as a special assessment against said parcel of real property for the amount as set forth in said report, and as contemplated under the provisions of Sections 17.2 of the Lynwood City Code, -which said lien shall continue until the assessment and interest thereon is paid, or until the lien is discharged of record. Section ?~. Said County Assessor, said County Tax Collector and said County audtgr are hereby authorized, instructed, directed and ordered, upon receipt of such notice of lien, to receive the same and thereafter to proceed to add the amount of the assessment indicated in notice of lien herein above set forth in said above report of said Building Official, to the next regular bill of taxe levied against the lot or parcel of land hereinafter described and to enter the amount; thereof on the County Assessment Book opposite the description of the property described and referred to in the notice of lien a.s set forth in said report, and the amount thereof shall be collected with all other taxes thereon against the property described, Said County officers, and each of them, are hereby further authorized, instructed, directed and ordered to perform . any further acts on their respective parts, all as contemplated under the w in such eases made and provided, Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. Section 6. That the real property hereinabove referred to is described as follows: 11073 Wright Road, Lynwood, California, 90262 Portion of LQt 77, Tract 1063+, in the City of Lynwogd,~as recorded on pages 40, ~l, and ~2, map bopk 165 in Los Angeles County, State of California.
