NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. The ability to locate and operate valves in an emergency is imperative to the safety of the community. A valve maintenance program is an essential proactive program to identify and prevent deficiencies in a water distribution system. The automated valve exercise machine will ensure the functionality of the city's water main and force main systems. 11 Proposed Action: Staff recommends approval in order to comply with maintenance requirements of the city of Opa-locka water distribution system and force main system. It will enable water and sewer division staff to implement regular exercise of the valves and will help system's functionality.
