RESOLUTION NO. 14-8800
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS TO
UNITED STATE TENNIS ASSOCIATION (USTA) AND
NATIONAL RECREATION PARKS ASSOCIATION
(NRPA) TO FUND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE TENNIS
COURT IN INGRAM PARK; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka (the "City") desires to have
the Tennis Courts in Ingram Park resurfaced and/or restriped; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that there are two sources of possible funding 1)
United States Tennis Association (USTA) and 2) National Recreation Parks Association
(NRPA); and
WHEREAS, the funding from United States Tennis Association Facility Assistance
Program is ongoing and has no application deadline, and offers funding to renovate and/or
upgrade existing tennis courts; and
WHEREAS, the NRPA is dedicated to the advancement of public parks, recreation and
conservation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to authorize the City Manager to submit
applications to USTA and NRPA for funding.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby authorizes
and directs the City Manager to submit applications to United State Tennis Association (USTA),
and National Recreation Parks Association (NRPA) to fund improvements to the tennis courts in
Ingram Park.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
