HomeMy Public PortalAbout14-8806 Cairo Lane for Infrastructure Monies Sponsored by: Commissioner Johnson Commissioner Santiago RESOLUTION NO. 14-8806 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA,TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO LIST CAIRO LANE AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS AS A PRIORITY FOR USE OF INFRASTRUCTURE MONIES RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA REVOLVING LOAN FUNDS,AND TO TAKE THE NEEDS OF LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS INTO CONSIDERATION DURING ALL INFRASTRUCTURE REDEVELOPMENT;PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City will be receiving monies from the State of Florida Revolving Loan Funds for its infrastructure redevelopment; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka("City")desires that Cairo Lane and the surrounding areas become a priority for use of the funds provided for the infrastructure;and WHEREAS,the City Commission requests that the needs of local business owners shall be taken into consideration to minimize any obstruction and inconvenience while infrastructure work is being performed;town hall meetings will be scheduled in advance with notification for public input by businesses and residents. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Resolution No. 14-8806 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby directs and authorizes the City Manager to list Cairo Lane and the surrounding areas as a priority for use of infrastructure monies received from the state of Florida Revolving Loan Funds, and to take the feedback of local business owners into consideration during all infrastructure redevelopment, and provide a bi-weekly written report to the City Commission. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
