HomeMy Public PortalAbout1995-046Member Philip Zietlow introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 95-46 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHWEST INTEGRATED PARK TRAIL PLAN WHEREAS, the Northwest Hennepin League of Municipalities, which includes the cities of Corcoran, Dayton, Greenfield, Hanover, Hassan, Independence, Loretto, Maple Grove, Maple Plain, Medina, Minnetrista, and Rogers, in November of 1993, endorsed a Resolution to submit a grant to the State of Minnesota's Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation for the purposes of developing a Northwest Integrated Park Trail System; and WHEREAS, the Northwest League, after approval of a Grant by the State of Minnesota's Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation formed a partnership with the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District in the development of a planning process, which included the Hennepin County Public Works Department, for purposes of coordinating park trail linkages between northwest Hennepin County Communities and Suburban Hennepin Regional Parks; and WHEREAS, the Northwest League, Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District and Hennepin County Public Works Departments have jointly created a Northwest Integrated Park Trail System which has been reviewed by each of the League communities, and outline community linkages, trails, and plans for future coordination and development; and WHEREAS, the Northwest League will create a Committee consisting of its membership to meet in the future for the purposes of monitoring the development of the Northwest Integrated Park Trail System. its coordination between communities of the League, as well as assist in identifying alternative funding sources and implementation strategies; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Medina approve the Northwest Integrated Park Trail System Map and its Implementation Guide and pledges its support to continue planning of the coordination, development and funding of its implementation and usage. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
