Home My Public Portal About14-8816 Assisting North Miami Beach Medical Center in Providing Services to Opa-Medical Center Sponsored by: Mayor Taylor RESOLUTION NO. 14-8816 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INVESTIGATE ASSISTING NORTH MIAMI BEACH MEDICAL CENTER IN PROVIDING SERVICES FOR OPA-MEDICAL OUTREACH HEALTH SERVICES (FREE CLINIC) IN THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, North Miami Beach Medical Center (NMBMC) - Opa-locka Medical Outreach has been providing free medical care for indigent patients in the City of Opa-locka for 11 years; and WHEREAS, property located at 3090 NW 135th Street has been deeded to NMBMC by Miami-Dade County for expansion of their medical services in Opa-locka; and WHEREAS, NMBMC has requested assistance from the City to provide certain site preparation, such as water and sewer connection, tree and shrubbery removal, pavement for parking, and fencing; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to investigate assisting this endeavor to provide medical services to the indigent patients in the City of Opa-locka. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to investigate assisting North Miami Beach Medical Center by Resolution No. 14-8816 providing services requested for the expansion of the Opa-locka Medical Outreach at 3090 W 165th Street. Opa Locka Medical Outreach plans to immediately set up a modular medical office and begin seeing indigent patients free of charge at this site. We are requesting assistance from the City of Opa Locka to help us accomplish this work by providing the following services to be used by people of Opa Locka as soon as possible: • Site preparation, tree and shrub removal • Water and Sewer Connections • Parking pavement • Fencing. Attached with this letter is a two page document describing our clinic services, and also a copy of the clinic flyer which is distributed in the community.
