HomeMy Public PortalAbout20090209 - Capital Improvements - Meeting MinutesTown of Hopkinton Capital Improvement Committee Meeting Notes February 9, 2009 Location: Town Hall, Room 205, 2nd Floor Time: February 9th, 6:30pm Committee members in Attendance: Mike Duffy Jim Gosselin John Barris Department Heads / Chairpersons / Representative in Attendance: J.T. Gaucher Department of Public Works Dan McIntyre Board of Public Works Department of Public Works  Sewer Capacity Increase Project and the Wood Street Pump Station Improvements requested in FY10 budget - $15 million and $2.62 million respectively have been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List. Also, the Town is eligible to apply for State Revolving Funds (SRF) for the Sewer Capacity Increase Project.  Hopkinton Flood Mitigation Project requested in FY 10 budget - $65k has been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List. A total of $100k has been estimated for repairs and improvements on Fruit Street and Spring Street relating to storm damage.  Inflow and Infiltration Remediation Project requested in FY10 budget - $2 million has been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List.  Main Street Water Main Replacement requested in FY 10 budget - $600k has been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List. This proposal would eliminate a total of $700k previously requested in FY 10 and FY 11 budgets.  Lake Maspenock Dam Repairs requested in FY 10 budget - $480k has been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List.  Rehabilitation of West Main Street Water Storage Tank in FY 10 budget - $555k has been proposed to the State of Massachusetts for inclusion on the Federal Stimulus List. (This tank is also in need of other significant repairs).  Land for new DPW facilities is being pursued on Wood Street adjacent to current facilities (Quit property). Offers for less than the asking prices for both the land and other property have been have been made to the owners. General A discussion was held regarding the December 1, 2008 Meeting Notes which need to be revised in order to be approved. Next meeting is February 23, 2009 at 6:30 in one of the Town Hall conference rooms. The School Committee is scheduled to provide additional data regarding the energy savings Article.
