A meeting was held prior to Special Town Meeting in order to discuss STM Article 5, Fruit Street
Waste Water Treatment Facility and connection to the Town of Milford Sewer System.
The DPW Board Chairman indicated that it was previously expected that by combining these
projects it would expedite their completion and that federal stimulus money would be available.
Many questions were raised by various attendees regarding the source of funding for these
projects. It was concluded that the Town would be at risk if this article was approved due to the
uncertainty of the availability of stimulus funds relating to the Milford portion of the project. Also,
this Article could become the subject of an additional Special Town Meeting in the fall of 2009 (FY
2010) when additional financing information is known.
At the completion of the meeting, the CIC met separately in the school cafeteria and voted 3 to 1
not to support this article.

No additional meetings of the CIC are currently scheduled.
