HomeMy Public PortalAbout109-1998 - Grant - Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne CountyORDINANCE NO. 109-1998 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION, OF FIVE GRANTS FROM THE PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY WHEREAS, the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the Richmond Police Department desires to submit five grant applications to assist with various activities. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit five grant applications to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County in order assist with various activities. 2. The Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Thirty-four Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-eight Dollars ($34,578.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated pursuant to the grants received in amounts not to exceed the following: (a) $1,500.00 for airtime and monthly service charge for the juvenile detention service’s three cellular phones, (b) $9,781.00 for the DARE program, (c) $6,000.00 for the DARE summer camp, (d) $13,297.00 for five Motorola 16-channel portable radios and 2 in-car videos, and $4,000.00 for training the narcotics search team.
