RESOLUTION NO. 14-8844
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, PROCLAIMING
THURSDAY OCTOBER 29, 2014, AS "ETHICAL
GOVERNANCE DAY"; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION
OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust
has proclaimed Thursday, October 29, 2014 as "Ethical Governance Day"; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of Opa-locka, along with the Ethics
Commission, recognizes the critical importance of educating the public in ethical
governance practices, and in providing all of our residents with the necessary tools to
become responsible and ethical citizens; and
WHEREAS, during "Ethical Governance Day", civic and community leaders,
elected officials, academic and political professionals, attorneys, and other public
servants, shall assist the Ethics Commission in interacting with, and engaging students in
dialog concerning the importance of civic involvement and ethical governance; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to support
Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust in sponsoring "Ethical
Governance Day" in the City of Opa-locka.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Resolution No. 14-8844
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locks hereby proclaims
Thursday, October 29, 2014, as "Ethical Governance Day" in the City of Opa-locka.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
