RESOLUTION NO. 14 -8858
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE
SUIT AGAINST THE OWNERS OF THE CUYAHOGA
PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa -locka has recorded liens on the property known as
the Cuyahoga site in the City; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the outstanding liens, the site has environmental
contamination which poses a health threat to the citizens of Opa- locka; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Opa -locka seek to
ensure that there be remediation of the environmental hazards and wish to begin the
process by bringing suit against the current owners of the property; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa -locka hereby authorizes
the City Attorney and the City Manager to take all necessary legal action to begin a
lawsuit against the current owners of the Cuyahoga property.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
