RESOLUTION NO. 14 -8861
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA,
DESIGNATING CLERKS AND INSPECTORS FOR
THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN AND FOR THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA,
FLORIDA ON NOVEMBER 4, 2014, AS REQUIRED
BY CHAPTER 8.5 SECTION AND 8.5 -5 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA,
FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, a General and Special Election will be held in and for the City of Opa-
locka ( "City ") on November 4, 2014, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.5 Section and 8.5 -5 of the City Code of Ordinances requires that:
"Prior to each municipal election the City Commission shall designate a clerk of election for
each precinct and also a sufficient number of inspectors of election for each precinct "; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.5 Section and 8.5 -5 of the City Code of Ordinances further
requires that: "All persons who shall serve as Clerks of Election or as Inspectors of Election at
any municipal election held in the City have the status of casual and temporary employees not
entitled to the status or to any of the rights or benefits of regular or permanent municipal
employees "; and
WHEREAS, the regular polling places for November 4, 2014, Special Election have
been designated as set forth:

WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to designate a Clerk of Election for each
precinct and also a sufficient number of Inspectors of Election for each precinct, for the
November 4, 2014 General and Special Election, as required by Chapter 8.5 Section and 8.5 -5 of
the City Code of Ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recital to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa -locka hereby designates the
persons listed in attachment "A" hereto, which is hereby incorporated by reference and made
part of this Resolution, as Clerks and Inspectors for the November 4, 2014 General and Special
Election, as required by Chapter 8.5 Section and 8.5 -5 of the City code of Ordinances.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of October, 2014.
