HomeMy Public PortalAbout1996-035Member John Ferris introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 96-35 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 290 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 290 , a comprehensive revision of the City's zoning ordinances related to conditional uses within the agricultural preservation and residential districts which will be codified as amendments to sections 826.11; 826.21; 826.26.1; 826.26.4; 826.31 and 826.41 of the Medina Code of Ordinances and by adding a new section 826.98 establishing standards for specific conditional uses; and WHEREAS, the amendments to these ordinances is 13 pages in length; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the amended zoning ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the city clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 290 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The City Council of the City of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 290 . The ordinance amends sections 826.11; 826.21; 826.26.1; 826.26.4; 826.31 and 826.41 of the City's zoning ordinance regarding conditional uses in the agricultural preservation and residential districts. The amendments revise the list of conditional uses allowed in each of those districts. In addition, the ordinance includes a new section 826.98 which establishes specific standards for each conditional use authorized in the agricultural preservation and residential districts. Henceforth, when evaluating a request for a conditional use, the City will evaluate the proposal under the general RHB108178 ME230-5 provisions regarding conditional uses as well as the specific conditions for that particular use as outlined in new section 826.98. The full text of Ordinance No. 290 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours.
