NEW BUSINESS A. DISCUSSION OF STREET SWEEPING SIGNAGE ON CUL-DE-SACS. Management Analyst Coyne explained the philosophy that guided the posting of street sweeping signage on cui-de-sacs. He explained that if a cul-de-sac is 9 parcels deep or less, the sweeping is done on both sides of the street on one day. For cui-de-sacs that are 10 parcels deep or more, sweeping is done on each side of the street on separate days. This was implemented so that residents who live on long cui-de-sacs would not have to walk great distances if they need to park their car on the street on street sweeping days. The Commission directed Staff to catalog the number of cui-de-sacs citywide, including the lengths of each cul-de-sac; research the fiscal impact of adding/changing signage; and consult with Athens Services about the feasibility of changing the street sweeping schedule. The Commission requested that staff provide this additional information within a 60 day period.
