Forbes, AICP, Community Development Director ~ By : Jennifer Venters , Planning Secretary SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2015 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commiss ion (Commission) actions from their meeting of September 22 , 2015. BACKGROUND: On September 22 , 2015 , the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: The following is a summary of actions taken at the September 22 , 2015 meeti ng : 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner -Leung, Marston , Vice -Chair Haddad , Cha ir O'Leary Absent: Commissioner -None Excused : Commissioner -Cordes 2 . CONSENT CALENDAR The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of August 25, 2015 . City Council October 6 , 2015 Page 2 of 3 3 . PUBLIC HEARING A. A REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ESTABLISH A 1 ,490 SQUARE FOOT DRINK AND FOOD ESTABLISHMENT IN THE CAMELLIA SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER LOCATED AT 5728 ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD , UNIT 102 The Commission approved a conditional use permit for a food and drink establishment, Pokelicious in a 1,490 square foot unit in Building 2 of the Camellia Square at 5728 Rosemead Boulevard , unit 102. No consumption of alcoholic beverages were proposed for the business . The hours of operation are from 11:00 a .m . to 10 :00 p.m . seven days a week . The seating capacity is 36 seats; no outside dining was requested as part of this application . The property is located in the C-2 , General Commercial zone and is designated as Commercial by the City's General Plan. B. A REQUEST FOR A LOT CONSOLIDATION TO COMBINE TWO LOTS THAT ARE UNDER ONE COMMON OWNERSHIP. THE LOT CONSOLIDATION WOULD COMBINE TWO LEGAL LOTS INTO A SINGLE PARCEL THAT WOULD ALLOW TENANT IMPROVEMENTS FOR A BUILDING THAT IS LOCATED ON A PROPERTY LINE AT 5570 ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD The Commission approved a lot consolidation combining two legal lots under one common ownership into a single parcel. Two buildings exist on the site, 5570-B Rosemead Boulevard consisting of 11,290 square feet , and the other building 5570-A Rosemead Boulevard consisting of 2,760 square feet. Per Building Code , tenant improvements to 5570-B Rosemead Boulevard were prohibited due to the property line running through a portion of the building . The property is located in the C-3, Heavy Commercial zone and is designated as Commercial by the City's General Plan . 4 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None 5. NEW BUSINESS-None 6 . COMMUNICATIONS-None 7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER Planning Manager Reimers announced that the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for October 13 , 2015, has been cancelled . He also provided an update regarding the water effici ent landscape ordinance stating that the City is taking a reg ional approach by me et ing with di rectors f rom vari o us cities and should be re ady fo r Pl an ning Commi ssion rev iew by th e e nd of th e ye ar. City Council October 6 , 2015 Page 3 of 3 8. ADJOURNMENT The Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:53 p .m . CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report . FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2015-16 City Budget.
