RESOLUTION NO. 14 -8892
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER NOT TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE
CURRENT CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN TRAFFIC
SOLUTIONS FOR REDLIGHT CAMERAS IN THE CITY
WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY
COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa -locka has installed Red -light cameras in various
locations throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the economic burden placed on the citizens of the City regarding
both the fines and administrative fees assessed are unduly excessive and the Red -light
program should not be extended beyond its current term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City commission of the City of Opa -locka hereby authorizes
and directs the City Manager not to extend the contract with the American Traffic
Solution (ATS) for the provision of Red -light cameras in the City without the approval of
the City Commission.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
