SUBJECT : PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION ACTIONS -STUDY SESSION/ SPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 28 , 2015 RECOMMENDATION: Th e City Council is requested to receive and f ile actions taken by the Public Arts Commission at its study session meeting of September 28 , 2015. BACKGROUND : On September 28 , 201 5, the Commission held a study session to discuss Public Arts Ann ua l Plan Priorities Two (Forma li ze a C itywide rotating Mural Program pending Community Feedback from Mural-In -A-Weekend Event) and Seven (Fo rmal ize a Public Art Implementation Strategy, i.e ., pote nti a l locations and types of art work). ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the September 28, 20 15 meeting : 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commiss io ner -Keelin , Kidd , Kim , Larsen , Ra chford Absent: Commiss ioner -None Excused : Commissioner-Non e 2 . REVIEW OF PUBLIC ARTS A NNU AL PLAN PRIORITIES TWO A ND SEVEN City Council October 20 , 2015 Page 2 of 2 The Commissio n d iscussed their ideas for formalizing a Citywide Rotat ing Mural Pr og ram and a Pu blic Art Imp lementation Stra t egy (i.e ., identifyi ng potential locat ions and types of art for City's growing public art collection). The Commission motio ned to continue the discussion to another Study Session to be hel d on Mo nday, Nove m be r 2 at 7 :00 p.m . in the Council Chambers , 5938 Kauffman Avenue to all ow th e Commission mo re time to brai nsto rm ideas . CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report . FISCAL IMPACT: None .
