A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS TOWARDS BROWNFIELD
PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has acquired two Federal Brownfield
Assessment Grants for the Long Beach Specific Plan to encourage development along
its major commercial corridor; and
WHEREAS, the City has also received a Emergency, Abandoned, Recalcitrant
Property grant to implement an Interim Remedial Action Plan located at' 11600 Long
Beach Boulevard, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to complete the Assessment of the Long Beach
Specific Plan Area and spur development; and
WHEREAS, the monies appropriated and expended will be reimbursed pursuant
to Agreements with the Federal and State government.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. Authorize the budgeting, appropriation and expenditure of the
following accounts for the following purpose.
$1,000,000 To Account 3561 70 831 62015 - Remediation of the property
located at 11600 -11616 Long Beach Boulevard
$248,054 To Account 3561 70 831 62015 - Creation of GIS along Long
Beach Corridor Specific Plan Area and Assessment of sites along
this corridor based upon GIS analysis
$37,000 To Account 3561 70 831 60001 - Staff time involved with
Assessment of Brownfield sites.
$2,000 To Account 3561 70 831 64015 - Travel
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
