Forbes, AICP , Community Development Director ~ By: Jennifer Venters, Planning Secretary SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF OCTOBER 27,2015 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission (Commiss ion) actions from their meeting of October 27 , 2015 . BACKGROUND: On October 27 , 2015 , the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: The following is a summary of actions taken at the October 27 , 2015 meeting : 1. ROLL CALL : Present: Commissione r -Cordes , Leung , Marston , Vice-Chair Haddad , Chair O'Leary Absent: Commissioner-None Excused : Commissioner-None 2 . CONSENT CALENDAR The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of September 22 , 2015 . City Council November 3 , 2015 Page 2 of 3 3 . PUBLIC HEARING A. A TENTATIVE TRACT MAP AND A MAJOR SITE PLAN REVIEW TO CONSTRUCT SIX CONDOMINIUM UNITS LOCATED AT 5556 WELLAND AVENUE The Commission approved a tentative tract map and a major site plan review to construct six detached two -story condominium units with attached garages at 5556 Weiland Avenue . The project consists of two floor plans (1,739 and 1,595 square feet of living area), both consisti ng of four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The site plan features a 25-foot driveway easement along the southerly portion of the lot. The front unit will face Weiland Avenue and the remaining five units will face the driveway easement. The property is located in the R-2 zone , and is designated as Medium Dens ity Residentia l by the City's General Plan . 4 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None 5 . NEW BUSINESS-None 6 . COMMUNICATIONS A. The Planning Comm ission received a Zoning Code Interpretation from staff defin i ng the met hod for calculating demolitions . The Comm iss ion had concerns regard ing how the Interpretation would affect construct ion activ ities at 6134 Camellia Avenue and consequently called the item for rev iew. The Interpretation will be placed on a future Planning Comm ission agenda as a publ ic hearing . 7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER Planning Manager Reimers announced the upcoming Specific Plan Community Meeting to take place on November 5 , 2015 , at 7 :00 p .m . in the City Hall Community Room . 8. ADJOURNMENT The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:41 p.m . CITY STRATEGIC GOALS : Approval of the Comm ission act ions of Octobe r 27 , 2015 furthers the C ity 's Strategic Goals of Cit izen Education and Communication .
