Arakel Aljalian, Pastor February 12, 2018 Watertown Town Council Town Hall 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Dear Members of the Watertown Town Council, On behalf of the Parish Council and the parishioners of St. James Armenian Church, we write to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Town Council members for your unanimous support and acceptance of St. James' bid to purchase the property located at 481 Mount Auburn Street (the former East Branch library). As you know, our parish has been interested in the property for over ten years, and we are extremely pleased that this property is now part of our parish campus. We are honored to take on this responsibility to be stewards of this land. St. James Armenian Church and our parishioners, many of whom are also Watertown residents, are proud of our involvement in, and contributions to, the Watertown community. Our history here spans -decades, as our parish has been here for almost 90 years and our ancestors were part of the Watertown community over 100 years ago. We have always strived to be, and have been, an integral part of the greater community, a good neighbor, and supportive of Watertown's community groups and initiatives. Our purchase of the property demonstrates our continuing commitment to our town, one that we pray will continue for another 90 years and beyond. We thank you again for your support and look forward to the future. Sincerely, Rev. Fr.
