HomeMy Public PortalAboutRES-CC-1977-01RESOLUTION 1-77 WHEREAS, The City of Moab has adopted The Code of The City of Moab, Utah, wherein the General Ordinances of the City are Codified, Published by Order of the City Council, 1965, as amended; and WHEREAS, Chapter 14, Motor Vehicle and Traffic defines Section 14-38, parking in restricted zones as follows: "It shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of a motor vehicle to park or leave such vehicle in any restricted area for a longer time or in a manner which is contrary to rules and regulations which may be passed by resolution of the city council from time to time;" and WHEREAS, said Section 14-38, Moab City Code, allows the City Council to determine rules and regulations to restrict parking by resolution of the city council from time to time; and WHEREAS, since the elimination of parking meters on certain streets has necessitated restricting parking times in lieu of; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the City of Moab hereby authorizes the Police Department to enforce restricted parking on the following streets, one hour parking limit from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, to wit: 1. Main Street, State Highway 163, from First North to First South, both sides of street. 2. Center Street, from First East to one-half block west of Main Street, both sides of street. 3. North side of West First South from South Main Street to one-half block west of South Main Street. Said restricted parking shall be appropriately marked by proper signs in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices For Streets and Highways, 1971 Edition.
