Member Jim Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-13
RESOLUTION GRANTING PRELIMINARY LAYOUT APPROVAL
FOR PHASE II - TRUNK HIGHWAY NO.55
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation has
prepared a preliminary layout for the improvement of a part of Trunk Highway Number
188 renumbered as Truck Highway No. 55 within the corporate limits of the City of
Medina, from the East line of Arrowhead Drive to the west line of County Road 116 and
seeks approval thereof: and
WHEREAS, said preliminary layouts are on file in the Office of the Department
of Transportation, Saint Paul, Minnesota, being marked, labeled, and identified as
Layout No. 1, TH 55 vicinity of Medina from Arrowhead Drive to County Road 116
Hennepin County Project No. 9541.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Medina, Minnesota that said preliminary layouts for the improvement of said Trunk
Highway within the corporate limits of the City of Medina be approved, subject to the
following condition:
1. The medians at the Tamarack Drive intersection be placed far enough apart to
accommodate an improved intersection and future signals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minnesota Department of Transportation
and/or the Hennepin County Department of Public Works is hereby authorized by the
City to acquire all rights of way, permits and/or easements required for said
improvement in accordance with the preliminary layout.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Ann Thies and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Ferns, Johnson, Thies and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None Absent: Hamilton
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
