A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO NOTIFY CSX CORPORATION
( "CSX ") TO CLEAR DEBRIS ON AND AROUND
RAILROAD TRACKS AND TO ENCOURAGE THE
REPAIR OF ARMS, RAILINGS AND OTHER TRAIN
RELATED STRUCTURES AND MECHANISMS WITHIN
THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, CSX Corporation ( "CSX ") operates and maintain approximately 2,800
miles of railroad track within the State of Florida, including tracks within the City of Opa -locka
( "City "); and
WHEREAS, debris on and around the CSX operated railroad tracks can pose a
significant safety hazard for City residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa -locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to notify CSX to identify debris on and around the CSX railroad tracks and to
encourage CSX to clear debris, repair arms, railings and other train related structures and
mechanisms within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa- locka, hereby authorizes and
directs the City Manager to notice CSX Corporation to identify debris on and around CSX
maintained and operated railroad tracks within the City and to further encourage the repair of
arms, railings and other train related structures and mechanisms within the City of Opa- locka.

Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized to take any and all necessary
action to effectuate the intent of this Resolution.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
